What is WelliID?

WelliID is the digital health identity system of the WelliCare ecosystem.
It’s a blockchain-based identity layer that gives every user—patients, doctors, clinics, pharmacies, NGOs, insurers—a secure, verifiable, and portable digital ID. Think of it as a digital passport for healthcare, tied to both:
• WelliRecord (portable health records)
• WelliWallet (WelliCoin payments)

Without WelliID, the ecosystem would be like a marketplace with no verified profiles. With
it, every actor has trust, access, and accountability

How WelliID Works (Core Mechanics)

Decentralized Identity (DID)
◦ Each user gets a unique blockchain-anchored WelliID.
◦ Verified through KYC (for patients) or professional licensing (for providers).
◦ Uses Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) → share health data without revealing everything.

Biometric + Mobile Integration
◦ WelliID can be linked to fingerprints, facial recognition, or national ID databases.
◦ Works with low-tech phones via USSD/QR codes. Consent-Driven Access
◦ Patients control access to their health data.
◦ Example: You share your WelliID with a new doctor → they can only see records you permit. Interoperability
◦ Designed to plug into national IDs, insurance databases, and international aid platforms.
